BUILT BY ATTORNEYS
WHO KNOW.

Legal Authority Lab builds AI paralegals for law firms — inside Claude, on your own files, in the tech stack you already have. We are Florida attorneys who built the system first for our own family law firm, ran it on real cases and real deadlines, and then started installing it for other firms.

18+ years of active family law practice. Real cases. Real clients. Real deadlines. Every system in Legal Authority Lab has been tested where it matters.

— Our Origin Story

Efficiency wasn’t optional.
It was survival.

We started in legal aid, watching people who needed help walk out the door because they couldn’t pay. That stuck with us. When we decided to build a law firm together, we made a decision: it would be one that supported working moms — all of us — without sacrificing time with our families or burning out chasing billable hours.

So we built around systems from day one. Flat fees instead of hourly billing. Standard operating procedures for every workflow. Templates for everything. Automation wherever it existed. We weren’t waiting for AI to solve problems we could solve with discipline and process.

Each of us brought something different to the table. Leisa learned marketing and technology — how to build systems that not only worked internally but could be explained, taught, and scaled. All of us have always been educators. Teaching came naturally because we built things worth teaching.

Then AI opened up in 2022. Leisa started building inside her own firm — testing AI paralegals on real cases, real clients, real deadlines. The ones that worked got refined. The ones that didn’t got discarded. No theory. No assumptions.

Discovery engines. Financial analysis. Pleading generators. Case management systems. All of it was built inside a working Florida family law firm and tested on real cases before it was offered to anyone. The systems that survived became a question: What if we built this for other attorneys?

Most legal AI is built by people who have never filed a motion, never faced a deadline that cannot move, never signed their name to a document that matters. We do the opposite: lawyers showing lawyers the end result on a real case. Not a training library you watch alone — working attorneys demonstrating real workflows, live, and then installing them in your firm. Every system in the Legal Authority Lab catalog was built by attorneys who have done all of those things, for the better part of two decades, in service of one mission: make it possible for law firms to serve clients at the speed and quality those clients deserve without burning out their people.

We built this because we needed it. We’re offering it because we know other attorneys do too.

— The Team

Who is behind the Lab?

Every partner is a Florida attorney who owns their own business — and pays their own software bills. When we recommend a system, it’s because we run it ourselves.

Leisa Wintz, MS, Esq.

Leisa Wintz, MS, Esq.

CEO & Chief Marketing Officer

Leisa Wintz is CEO and Chief Marketing Officer of Legal Authority Lab. A Florida Bar member (FL Bar No. 64399) with 18 years of active family law practice, she founded Family Matters Law Group in 2010 and built it into a lean, systems-driven practice with a single-attorney model and distributed team.

A former licensed marriage and family therapist who started her legal career in legal aid, Leisa developed a deep commitment to building law firms that support working mothers and sustainable practice. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Family Mediator, and brought expertise in marketing, technology, and systems design to FMLG — establishing flat-fee pricing, comprehensive SOPs, and automation infrastructure from the firm’s inception.

In 2022, she began building AI workflow systems inside her own firm — testing every system on real cases with real clients facing real deadlines. Those systems became the foundation of Legal Authority Lab. She holds a Master of Science degree and leads all product development, custom build design, sales, and thought leadership for LAL.

Cheryl-Dene Spring, Esq.

Cheryl-Dene Spring, Esq.

Cofounder & Chief Financial Officer

Cheryl-Dene Spring is a Cofounder and Chief Financial Officer of Legal Authority Lab and a Florida attorney with 15+ years of combined experience as an attorney, real estate broker, and paralegal. She is also founder and managing partner of Sobi Law Group, Sobi Title & Escrow, and Sobi Capital — firms she operates separately from LAL. She knows what it costs to run a firm because she runs three.

She earned her Juris Doctor from Nova Southeastern University’s Shepard Broad College of Law and her BS in Paralegal Studies from the same institution. She is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Mediator, licensed real estate broker, former Attorney Special Magistrate for the Florida Department of Revenue, and was recognized as a Super Lawyers Rising Star (2017–2020).

At LAL, Cheryl-Dene runs the business side — profitability, pricing, and C-suite strategy — and leads operations for Master Valuator, the sister entity delivering real estate CMAs, business valuations, estate valuations, and QDRO calculations.

He designs and develops the custom build solutions that power LAL’s high-touch engagements, builds the Command Center portal infrastructure, and oversees platform architecture and scaling. He also leads all technical development, infrastructure, and platform engineering for Master Valuator, the valuation practice he co-founded alongside the LAL partners.

His background in both law and engineering gives him unique insight into building AI systems that attorneys actually need. He is based in Florida.

At LAL, Naz leads business operations, client service delivery, coaching program management, and continues her work in legal education, community building, and thought leadership. She is based in Florida.

— Questions We Get

What attorneys ask about us.

Is Legal Authority Lab a software company?

No. We’re attorneys who build AI paralegal systems inside Claude, on your own files, in the tech stack you already have. You buy a system once and you own it — it lives in your own account, not in a vendor’s product, with no subscription attached.

Have these systems been used on real cases?

Yes. Everything started inside Family Matters Law Group, a working Florida family law firm, beginning in 2022 — tested on real cases, real clients, and real deadlines before it was packaged for anyone else. And a lawyer reviews everything before it leaves the firm; nothing goes out on autopilot.

What makes LAL different from other legal AI companies?

Lawyers showing lawyers the end result on a case. Most legal AI training is a library of generic videos; ours is working attorneys demonstrating real workflows live, then installing them in your firm. The people who built the systems have practiced law for nearly two decades.

Who actually builds the systems?

Practicing attorneys. Leisa Wintz designs the workflows from 18 years of family law practice. Henry Wintz — an attorney and a computer engineer — architects the technical infrastructure. Cheryl-Dene Spring runs pricing and the business side. Every partner owns a firm and pays their own software bills.
